Here at Wild at Art KIDS we are committed to nurturing and encouraging the artist already within every child or teen  – whether they already love art, haven’t quite found a hobby they love YET or would love to develop skills and build confidence in drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, creativity, imagination, problem-solving, resilience, imperfection, or any other art and personal skills.

Through a rich combination of art exploration, skill building and freedom to create, artists (your children) are supported, guided and encouraged to find and trust the artist within.

Dive into Drawing

Our Ages 5–6 drawing class is a fun, colourful introduction to drawing. Children explore simple skills like shapes, lines and textures through playful, hands-on projects that feel more like making than formal lessons.

Using a range of kid-friendly tools—oil pastels, sketching and watercolour pencils, charcoal and more—children are encouraged to experiment, make choices and enjoy the process. The focus is on building confidence, trying new things and enjoying the process, rather than creating perfect drawings. It’s a welcoming first step for young artists who love to draw and make art.

Commencing Monday 20th April – Monday 22nd June

Please note: no class Monday 8th June – King’s Birthday Holiday

Dive into Drawing

Our Ages 10+ drawing class is ideal for young artists who want to build on their skills, learn new techniques and develop their own artistic style. Whether they’re just starting or already love to draw, each student is supported at their own level.

We explore more advanced skills such as shading, texture, depth, perspective and observation, along with practical techniques like working from references, improving proportions and layering colour for richer detail. Through a variety of engaging projects, students build confidence, refine their skills and continue developing a style that feels like their own.

Thursdays

artists-lead-the-way-5-13

Artists, Lead the Way!

An open studio art class where artists come to work on their own ideas, art inspiration and/or take inspiration from the materials, a picture book, conversation, important events, prompts, examples or ideas on offer in the studio. This class is perfect for artists who have lots of ideas of their own and often know exactly what they would like to create.

Within each session artists will also be introduced to a new skill, technique or material in the form of a mini-lesson. The purpose of this is to continue to stretch and broaden their artmaking skills, so that they can continue to bring new materials and techniques into their own ideas.

Commencing Thursday 23rd April – Thursday 25th June
