Bold Beetles on Canvas

This workshop is perfect for the artist keen to learn or practice new painting techniques!
Artists will sketch their own beetle, focusing on strong shapes and interesting patterns. Then we’ll explore how to mix tints and shades to create a monochromatic background and a monochromatic beetle. We’ll choose opposite or contrasting colours from the colour wheel to make our artwork really pop.
Artists will practise painting techniques like blending, layering and creating smooth gradients to add texture and depth. Every beetle will be unique, bold and really pop!

About the Teacher:
Di Riepsamen is a passionate and experienced primary school teacher who started out in the classroom and discovered a love of the visual arts. She teaches term classes and school holiday workshops to kids who want to experience a wide variety of art forms, including drawing, painting, collage, mixed-media, clay, construction and more.
